Who This Is For…

  • For those singers who are strong in one area and not in another, wanting to create one voice that can sing style with ease and fluidity that can sing anything (in a healthy way) and want to know complete freedom, fun and ease while singing.
  • For those who are experienced singers who want to connect to a much deeper level to their sound, who have diminished their power over time and want to reconnect with who they really are authentically. And those who have wanted to quit, take a break or have fallen out of love with singing.
  • For those singers who have suffered a confusing depressive phase about the industry. (Please Note* I am not a therapist or a doctor, I can only share my personal experience of how I navigated this and healed myself)

What You Will Learn at The Voice Cathedral?

You will learn how to train towards having one voice that can do many things, stamina, agility, mouth placement, mouth shape, control, breath support, maximizing sound while minimizing effort, using all resonators, how to align your body, vocal health and more.

You will learn practices for deeper connection, how to know your emotions and then how to put them in a sound, how to breath and sing through your heart, tell the truth, release stress and anxiety, eliminate mental blocks, know your triggers, and learn how to be compassionate with yourself, and love all parts.

Testimonials

“Shortly after I started my mentorship with Carrie I was recording my next single with my producer, who has known my voice inside and out for around 6 years. She kept saying, ‘What is this new placement? It’s so warm and so beautiful! Your belt sound so healthy and clear! Those high notes are butter up there!’

Not only did Carrie help me find my resonators in a way that sounds distinctively like ‘me,’ this newfound ease freed me up to explore the joy and the emotion even more, which Carrie never neglects in her teaching. Technique is only technique until you use it in service of the music, and Carrie helps make that connection exactly when she knows you’re ready. It’s a completely wholistic approach with such noticeable results.”

Carrie Manolakos is that rare combination: she’s an extraordinary singer and an extraordinary teacher of singing. Because she’s a storyteller with her voice and her heart, and technique her teaching is focused on how those attributes work together. With her help, a student can harness them all, and, as it’s clear to see from Carrie’s performances, the possibilities are endless.

Carrie U has been such an epic blessing in my life and career! As a seasoned performer and a new mom, there were so many areas in my vocal health that needed to be reimagined and reconstructed. In a period ravaged by things in the industry shifting singers need new ways to cope- to forge a new path when the familiar one has disappeared. Thank God for the Carrie-U- a safe space to be yourself, sing from your truest heart centered self, and move forward with the unwavering support of a mentor who really understands the daily grind of the artist. Carrie Manolakos is a master teaching artist and I cherish every moment spent with her in song and in conversation.

A Note From Carrie

I started The Voice Cathedral to guide the singers out there to understand the joy, the responsibility and challenges of having your instrument live inside of your body; feeling everything you feel and going everywhere you go. While there are many types of musicians in the world, there is none like the singer. I never had anything like this while I was learning, and looking back, it forced me to find much of it on my own. And so, The Voice Cathedral was created.

After training my entire life in every style of singing, I took what was useful and released what was not, experimented with my own sound and found a frequency that is me at my highest level. A voice that is an extension of your feelings, power, light, vulnerability, and experience in which you can do what you want, when you want, is somewhat of a superpower, whether you choose to share it or not. And it is the spiritual component and the mystery in this instrument that is the underlying force of why I do this.

I have committed my whole life to studying the voice and spirit and their relationship to one another. I have also committed my whole life to studying life itself.

It has become clear how important it is for me to share what I know. You can have all the techniques in the world, but if you cannot understand how to channel emotion, or are too afraid to be with all parts of you, then you have missed the sweetest lesson.

Technique is tremendously important. It comes first. You cannot move on until you understand the discipline of working in that way. That powerful sound you hear in my voice is not simply technique. It is vulnerability, it is life lived, it is courage, it is struggle, it is joy, it is play, it is every emotion I have ever felt and it is wrestling with and wanting to know God.

Not only will you be a better singer when you come out of this, you will be more connected spiritually.  And creating a space for the spirit, a space for courageous and willing humans to know thyself, whether I am onstage myself or simply passing this along, it is this that  has always been and will always be my guiding reason.
