HURRICANE HELENE

Thank you for watching. Thank you for helping. Thank you for listening.

Recorded for those living in the aftermath.

A Message from Carrie

Support our communities and give directly to people and businesses in Western North Carolina who are still struggling. All larger private organizations listed were the first on the ground, helping with immediacy and precision and trust and continuing to assist in the aftermath. These are all families and businesses I have direct connections to.

ElderFlower Community

Holistic multigenerational care, in Fairview NC, Nextdoor to Mighty Oaks Montessori, this organization was set to open the weeks following the hurricane, and was to be in collaboration with Mighty Oaks. This is a 501c3 and your donation is tax deductible. More about Elderflower here.

The Selina Naturally / Celtic Sea salt Staff

This family is so near and dear to me. Carla, George and Selina are some of the most generous and loving people I know and their company is Selina Naturally / Celtic Sea salt. They have several staff who have lost everything and are displaced. They are currently housing at least 2 families, many of their community are without homes, power and water still, and they are cooking for their staff of 70 everyday.

The Sullivan-Dawes Family

Friends of mine, who have 11 family members displaced, 5 of which are young children. This family is absolutely incredible, and have done so much to support the arts, are community first, and have been fighting the good fight for years, to help to keep our sovereignty.

Katherine is writing about their story here:

BLACK MOUNTAIN HOME FOR CHILDREN, Youth & Families

A place to care for children whose parents can no longer care for them and help families who need rehabilitation and help. All of their children and staff are safe. And their campuses have had over 1,000,000 in damages. That does NOT include rebuilding the four buildings demolished and buried in the ruble or restoring the six that were severely damaged.

This is a nonprofit and any money received would go to rebuilding.

Give directly on their website below.
